Marriage and Relationship Counseling: Infidelity is not a life sentence.

What does it Mean?

Well I guess today I chose to write about probably my most controversial topic, unfortunately with my training and experience, I have to put it out there. Infidelity is not a life sentence.

Let’s keep it real, infidelity, and cheating on your partner is not O.K, it is almost or maybe even reprehensible. But what happens when you choose to take the person back? I’m sorry but it is not a life sentence for your partner?

Marriage-Counseling

What that really means is quite simply, if you choose to take your partner back, you can’t just bring up the past like it is an old argument or superpower.

Let’s be clear about two things, if your lady is bringing it up, it is relational, she is FEELING about something right now, same as she FELT back then when you messed up and cheated men.

Men if you are bringing it up, it is because you want to argue, be combative, and diminish your woman into well you did this, almost like a reverse uno card in an argument.

How To Move it Forward:

Men: Simply put, if your wife or girlfriend cheated, don’t bring it up, it does not do anything to help in any situation I promise, I promise you it will only make your wife or girlfriend feel worse.

The choice has been made to forgive and take your woman back, it’s not to take your woman back and then bring up the past.

Ladies: It is up to you to communicate to your man if you did mess up, how it makes you really feel when they do bring it up, even during an argument. Tell your man how it really makes you feel, like you’re not forgiven, or less than, or even like continuing is pointless if we are just going to argue and bring up the past.

Besides the point of relationships, and being together is to have fun, and when little bumps on the road do come up is to work through them. I can promise you bringing up the past is not going to help any bump in the road.
