Helping Families become whole again.
Family Therapy
I know exactly how it can be to be involved in a family dynamic that is changing, or to feel alone and isolated. You need someone that is going to be a space for you to listen to you, and also your family and figure it all out.
You might be worried and feel anxious and lost that the family you once knew and the relationship you once had with your family will not be the same again. You want to be sure that there is hope!
You might be looking for family therapy because without it you feel that your children or loved ones will not give you the time of day to share your side of the story. Perhaps it is a space to show your loved ones how much you do love them.
Maybe you see this as the only time you would be able to see your loved ones and begin to work on the relationship.
Maybe you want your family to know you really do care and love them and will do anything to show them that.
However, you arrived here, I’m so glad you’re here. Read on to see if my counseling services might be a good fit for you.
When you are alone in your family, you need all the support you can get.
When left alone, our family unit can completely turn into something else, a whole new dynamic where we feel left out, alone, and not a part of.
We tend to suffer, dwell on the past, reach out, and hope for a change, but are often met with resistance and the same narrative when trying to work out past family issues.
It’s not okay to just let life pass as the meaning of your relationship with your family changes, and not for the better. While change is inevitable due to divorce, birth, death, or moving out, it doesn’t have to change for the worse. It can take on a new meaning.
If this describes you and your relationship with your family, this might be a good space for you and your family to dive into the past, acknowledge the present, and create a new and meaningful future.
I help you reconnect with your family.
Since you’ve come this far you might want to know how exactly I help heal old family wounds, and form new relationships with your children, husband, wife, or loved ones.
I listen to your story, the reason why you are here, reading this website, thinking about your family and telling me everything I need to know. Then I listen to the story of your loved ones. While the story is what got us here, it is the meaning, and emotions behind the story that form our current relationship with our family.
I prioritize everyone in the room being heard and understood, whether it is the past, the present, or the future. My client is not necessarily you, but the relationship you have with your family, and making it as meaningful and wonderful as it can be.
In the end, the room is a space to process the past, our emotions, and meaning, and even some regrets. It is a place where we can learn about each other even more, reminisce and ultimately grow together as a family again. I offer a couple of options to best work with you and your family, which you can decide on which is best for you.
Why I love working with families.
As a family unit we have so many moving parts, different relationships with each family member, and each person has different meanings and emotions behind what led us to the current situation. It is so incredibly rewarding to navigate these moving parts and fix a struggling family dynamic to one that is much more whole and complete.
When I first started as a therapist, I never knew how much I would love working with families, although I did have a sneaking suspicion. After my first family session with my first family, it was so clear how much I loved it. I felt so alive and like I was going to really make a difference with challenging but rewarding work.
Working with families and couples, is my absolute favorite thing to do in this field!
