The definition of marital problem - which would seem to be consistent because of the frequency of the most common themes around money, sex and kids - in actual fact varies dramatically from one couple to another even within the same culture. This is because Marriage Blueprints - at least the Personal Marriage Blueprints - are based on choices and selections of elements from models of marriage and relationships which have been observed and chosen or rejected according to individual preference. This means that what is considered a "marital problem" for one couple may be considered very unimportant or insignificant to another couple. It is because of these individual definitions of marital problems that so many forms of generic marriage counseling are not effective, since they attempt to provide "one size fits all" answers to marital problems.
